Beautiful bespoke 100% Woollen Hand - Woven one - off Tippet Scarf inspired by the incredible English Heritage Site Denny Abbey. A limited edition, one of a set of two. The Tippet Scarf is shorter than the traditional scarf, lying somewhere between a scarf and a cravat, it is woven to wrap around the neck and tuck into the jacket. Adding a subtle pop of colour and texture, without overwhelming the look.
Woven with a plain weave, also known as tabby weave. The pattern uses a 4 simple colours to create a grid, when woven it appears as subtle stiches in the cloth. The use of the Cotton Snarl yarn helps to create a natural subtle texture, for a unique and comforting scarf with a long hand - twisted fringe for added detail.. Hand-woven Denny Abbey Tippet Scarf
The Denny Abbey Collection is inspired by an incredible English Heritage Site and Farming museum near Ely, Cambridgeshire. For this project I kept it local, exploring my surrounding history. This project works with a variety of different Wools including Shetland and Swadale and English wool. This beautiful fabric experiments with a series of different bands running from top to bottom, working with different weights and densities of colour.
