Demonstrations, Lectures and Group Talks

Service Description

Rosie-may will travel to your designated location to offer talks and Weaving demonstrations to groups. A perfect opportunity to learn more and experience first hand the incredible wonders of Table Loom Weaving. This type of session is suitable for schools, colleges, WI's and Heritage organisations etc. I am open to a variety of sessions, please email to enquire for more information with regard to format of the session. Please include any special requests or specific areas of interest. Alternative weekdays can be requested and arranged with advance notice. These sessions will be available on an hourly basis. I have the beautiful Harris 16 Shaft Table Loom available to bring with me to the session, along with a selection of set-up equipment, reference materials, books, design boards, drawings and fabric samples. These sessions are best for those who are interested in learning more about the mechanics and set-up of the Weaving Loom. This is a great opportunity to understand more of how fabric is designed. Participants are able to use the Table Loom, wind their own Bobbins and throw the shuttle through the Weave shed for themselves. They are able to gain a better upstanding of an incredible traditional Heritage Craft. With over 7 years of experience using Table Looms, Floor Looms and Dobby Looms, for educational purposes I can also suggest reference books, further reading and various helpful websites. If required, Rosie-may can suggest the best places to source both brand new and second hand Weaving equipment. She can offer advice on pricing or viable options for pre-loved purchases. 1-1 private tuition workshops are also available in her home Studio in Cambridgeshire. See Mays services for more information. I am prepared to travel within a radius of 40 miles of Stilton, Cambridgeshire. Distances of 40+ miles will be agreed on a case by case basis.    £30 per hour (includes travelling time) plus 45p per mile.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 3 weeks before the course starts. Partial refund may be available depending on circumstances up to 2 week before course starts.
